The Parish Council also employs 3 full time and 1 part time groundstaff and 1 part time cleaner, and 3 staff at the Liphook Millennium Hall.

The Parish Office provides a "one stop shop" for information on all three tiers of local government. Regular surgeries are also held by the Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Drum Housing Association. The staff are also responsible for the provison of public toilets, and grasscutting contracts on behalf of East Hampshire District Council.

Parish Council meets monthly normally on the last Monday of the month at 8.00pm in the Parish Office. The Annual Parish Meeting normally takes place in March. All Parish Council business is conducted in accordance with Standing Orders (revised 2002) and relevant Government Legislation.

Committee meetings are normally held on Mondays in the Parish Office at 8.00pm.

 

There are also forums for Youth, Planning, Sport & Recreation, Allotments, Transport and Byways. These are informal meetings held with the participation and involvement by members of the public. The Chairman is normally a Parish Councillor.

EAST HAMPSHIRE NORTH EAST AREA COMMITTEE

This meets on the first Tuesday in each month, at different locations around the local area. Parish Councillors are welcome to attend and may have opportunity to speak on specific issues.

RADFORD PARK Off Malthouse Meadows (22 acres) - Malthouse Meadows frontage in ownership of East Hampshire District Council. Right of way granted for access to car park February 11th 1980. Vehicular right of way from A3 London Road across Hospital land, for agricultural purposes only, acquired with purchase of Bones’ land 1983.

10 acres, adjacent to A3 London Road, purchased from Mr. W. R.. Allee on October 31st 1977. (£6,000) Radford Park River Wey
Approx. 6 acres, between south side of River Wey and Wey Meadow estate, donated as public open space by developers James Miller & Partners, February 3rd 1982. (Condition of planning permission).
Approx. 6 acres, north of River Wey to Bramshott Place boundary, purchased from Mrs. G. Bone of Guernsey, March 24th 1983 (£5,000)
Approx. 1 acre of wet land, north of River Wey to boundary with Marshes Hollow, Haslemere Road, purchased from Mrs J Obert February 1990 (£2,000)

PARISH COUNCIL OFFICE AND PUBLIC TOILETS Small area of land purchased from Peak Housing for £1, transfer deed completed in September 1993. Planning Permission refused for new parish office on this land due to Tree Preservation Orders on two oaks and one sycamore growing on land.

a tipping fee of £2001 was paid by John Jones for use of land as a soil tip during the A3 Bypass excavations.

LIPHOOK MILLENNIUM HALL AND VILLAGE GREEN Acquired by the Parish Council  under the planning obligations imposed on J Sainsbury plc during the development of the OSU site. The Hall, totalling 1080 sq m, comprises a theatre/hall, meeting rooms and social facilities; Scout and Guide halls with ancillary stores, kitchens and toilets and a Police facility. The Village Green (4 acres) surrounds the Millennium Hall and the Parish Council is responsible for its maintenance. Parish Council are also responsible for Midhurst Road tree belt. Parish Council Custodian Trustees / Trustees
JUBILEE RECREATION GROUND (Little Rec) Deed of Conveyance mentioned in Minutes of Parish Council meeting held on February 10th 1897. Area 252 x 126 feet. Donated by Mr. W. T. Erle to the Parish Council in trust for the use of young children and their parents resident in Liphook and its environs for ever. Mention made of adding part of the playground of the Girls School. The boundary with the County Library (old school) is marked by posts - by the wall on the western side. The Deeds were mislaid some time prior to 1957. Ownership registered with the Land Registry in December 1997. Skate Park installed in 2001.

BRAMSHOTT WAR MEMORIAL RECREATION GROUND

London Road (8 acres) - purchased by public subscription as a war memorial in 1920. Run at first by publicly elected Recreation Ground Committee. Handed to the Parish Council as Custodian Trustees in 1937, registered as a Charity on 17th November 1939.
Pavilion

Part timber, constructed 1936 (former Football Pavilion, leased to Liphook Royal British Legion as Headquarters from January 1st 1987 until December 1996) Now used as Willows Nursery School.

Part concrete block, constructed 1977 to provide staff workshop on ground floor; social room, bar area, toilet and shower on first floor, used by Youth Club – The Beacon

Bowling Club pavilion - permitted 1947 until Club disbands
Football (formerly Cricket Club) Club pavilion on north bank. Permission to Cricket Club 1965 transferred to Football Club 1986. Licence due for renewal.

Hard Tennis Courts

Liphook Tennis Club, 14 years from November 1971; extended for 10 year periods

All licences need updating as a result of licence fee review.  To be completed in 2003/2004.

FLETCHER’S FIELD

Donated to the Parish as public open-space, by the East Hampshire District Council on completion of their adjoining sheltered housing development in July 1978. Black bollards mark the boundary of the area donated as public open space. Parish Council appointed Trustees. Sitting out area - erected and donated by Miss. P.M. Halahan. Raised "all-ability" flower beds constructed by Liphook Marketing Panel "Liphook in Bloom" in 1998.
Wayleave Agreement in Perpetuity - granted to Post Office to lay underground telegraph cables across the land, October 17th 1979.
